Monochrome LCDs
Optrex offers a broad range of passive matrix monochrome LCDs utilizing twisted nematic technology for the optimum combination of legibility, economy and style, with operating temperature ranges that adhere to automotive specifications.
Optrex Technology for Enhancing Fixed Segment LCDs
| Technology | Highlights |
|---|---|
| ABN(Advanced Black Nematic) | A special liquid crystal alignment structure achieves a true black level by dramatically reducing the light leakage to 0.008%. The LCD panel features contrast ratio of 1000:1(for segment type), super wide viewing angle, and with no performance shift over wide temperature range. This technology also exhibits practically no color shift, so any backlight color can be used without compromising contrast ratio. |
| CMC (Clear Mono Color) | By using colored polarizers, the background shade is changed to give a wide variety of interior looks. Available in Blue, Purple, Green. |
| HPC (High Performance Color) | Typical TN displays in the positive mode will show a greenish background color in daytime because the sunlight washes out the background color (red, green, amber...whatever the customer uses). At night time, the color becomes visible. With Optrex?s HPC technology, special color filters are used inside the LCD cell that allow the background color in the daytime (reflective mode) to remain the same or close to the background in the night time (transmissive). More than 0 colors available. |
| IBM (Inner Black Mask) | No bleedthrough of backlight, no change in background color, and parallax free appearance. |
| VHC (Very High Contrast) | By driving a positive mode TN in reverse (i.e. selecting all the segments except the one you want to be visible, and adding IBM) a contrast ratio of 1000:1 can be achieved with a TN panel. |
| MLA (Multi-line Addressing) | With MLA, several rows/times can increase the speed with which the segments are addressed, resulting in better contrast and higher resolution displays. |
| ITO Heater (Indium Tin Oxide) | Fast response times at lower temperatures. |
