Mechatronics™
Optrex's unique Mechatronics technology combines classic analog styling with digital content. Mechatronics enables unique, reconfigurable instrument panel designs that provide high-information digital content while keeping the classic design of instrument cluster panels (i.e. using pointers for such purposes as speed and tachometer information).
Mechatronics Core Elements
- DSTN structure with MLA (multiline addressing) for high contrast with fast response times
- High Performance Color (HPC) for efficient transmission with high color saturation
- Chip-on-Glass (COG) arrangement for mounting LCD driver directly onto contact edge of LCD glass
- LCD panels produced in nonrectangular shapes - circle, semicircle, octagon, etc, -- combined with the ability to provide holes for pointer axles in any kind of LCD

Mechatronics technology can provide holes in any kind of LCD. This achieves a number of instrument design advantages, including the ability to change language, country or engine version information by simply changing the software - there by reducing the number of cluster versions that have to be manufactured.
Transmart™ (under development)
Optrex Transmart™ displays provide a wide range of colors in a unique semitransparent format. Transmart™ displays offer the advantages of Heads-Up Displays (HUDs) in a non-projection based technology that does not require a special windshield design. Information is projected onto the driver's visual field and follows either their gaze or the direction in which their head points.

Transmart™ can be used as an overlay technology with a normal instrument panel. It is a permanently mounted fixed display that can be designed to rise up from the dashboard, or flip up or down as needed.
